The West Canada Creek travels 76 miles in upstate New York with approximately 26 miles of accessible stream frontage. The West Canada Creek runs through Hamilton, Oneida and Herkimer counties, draining the south part of the Adirondack Mountains before emptying into the Mohawk River near the Village of Herkimer. Anglers can catch several different fish species in West Canada Creek. In the upper reaches, brook trout are the angler's favorite. From Hinckley Dam to Herkimer, anglers concentrate on fishing for brown trout. Trenton Falls offers the chance for catching trophy-sized fish. Special regulations, like a no kill restriction and use of artificial lures only, combined with an extended fishing season, help produce trophy fish. A trophy section exists from Trenton Falls to the Oneida/Herkimer County border. Cost is usually $200 per person.
